Welcome To Oahu Orthodontics!

Complimentary Exam

Complimentary Exam

Welcome! We are always excited to meet new patients on their first visit to our office. At your initial appointment, you will have a chance to get acquainted with our team and learn about how orthodontic treatment can help you. We will thoroughly examine the teeth and address your orthodontic needs to determine if this is the proper time to begin treatment. We encourage questions from both the patient and the parent so that you will understand everything you need to know in order to decide whether to proceed with treatment. We know your time is valuable, so if treatment is indicated, we also reserve time following the exam for diagnostic records.

Records and Consultation Appointment

Records and Consultation Appointment

When you decide to proceed with treatment, records are made to determine which treatment options will best meet your needs. Complete diagnostic records typically include study models of the teeth, photos of the face and teeth, and x-rays (lateral cephalometric and panoramic). This information will help us diagnose any orthodontic issues and is used to develop your personalized treatment plan. When you choose to move forward with the records, there is a fee associated with this additional appointment and it will last approximately 40 minutes.

After we have evaluated your records, a consultation appointment will be scheduled to discuss and provide a complete clinical diagnosis regarding the nature of the problem, a written summary of the findings and a detailed plan that outlines your treatment, goals and estimated fees.

Regular Orthodontic Appointments

Regular Orthodontic Appointments

When you choose to receive orthodontic treatment, your next appointment will be to place your new orthodontic appliance! Typically, this appointment is less than an hour. Appointments afterwards will be every 6-8 weeks apart for adjustments. Regular checkups last between 10-20 minutes. If you are running late or need to reschedule, please let us know and we will do everything we can to accommodate you.

Regular Dental Visits

Regular Dental Visits

Not only is it important to visit the orthodontist every 6-8 weeks, it is equally important to continue to visit your family dentist once very six months for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups.
